“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.” – Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. – Lao Tzu
So true, isn’t it? Some of us are just never content with what we have. We are always looking for new stuff AND people. I am not saying that we should not get new things or even develop relationships with new people. What I mean is that we tend to go after “new” people and materials while ignoring the ones we already have. We forget that they even exist. And when you lose them (referring to both materials and people), that is when you actually realize their value. By then, it is too late!! There is nothing that you could do but regret the times that you ignored them either intentionally or unintentionally. And when we actually do get new things or people, our happiness does not even last that long!! This is so sad! I would love to elaborate on this topic a little more but I have to call it a day. I have got a volunteering event to attend tomorrow morning.
Good night and Good morning, peeps!
“That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.”
~John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
It has been quite a while since I posted a quote so there it is…
Best book and movie ever! I think this is one of the few times I have felt as if the movie did justice to the book. In my opinion, both are great.
“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”
~ Marilyn Monroe
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
~Victor Hugo, Les Miserables
There is always hope. Every night/problem has to end at some point to let the sun/light shine in. Do not ever give up hope, hold on to it dearly!
Earth laughs in flowers. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
A beautiful quote, isn’t it? I came across it as I was searching for something to use in a drawing. Seems like a perfect one to use!
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
~ Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind (1939)
I fell in love with this movie the very first time I saw it in 2012. I don’t think I would have come across this if it wasn’t for my history teacher, who made us watch it and write an essay on it. I am glad I followed my professor’s instruction at least once 😉 Something good came out of it.
“The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.”
~ Alice Morse Earle
I have decided to post quotes that I like multiple times a week. They will be about life, inspiration, humor, etc. I hope you enjoy them!
What’s yours? I know you have your favorite quotes as well, share them if you like in the comments section.
